Moonak/Sangrur, June 07: SSP Sangrur Dr. Ravjot Grewal informed that special action was taken by Moonak sub-division police from June 1 to June 7, 2026 under the “War against Drugs” and “Village Guards” campaign. During this, 3 cases were registered under Section 27 of the NDPS Act and action was taken against 5 accused and they were admitted to the drug de-addiction center.
The police also traced a theft case and arrested 3 accused and recovered the stolen goods, including press, toaster, electric stove, flour kneading machine, mixie, geyser, gas stove, water filter, LCD TV and AC parts.
Apart from this, treatment of 15 persons suffering from drug addiction was started. The police arrested 32 alleged culprits in 19 cases registered under various sections. 49 challans were issued for vehicles violating traffic rules, while during the investigation of the suspects, action was taken against 56 persons under section 172 BNSS and preventive action was taken against 11 persons.
