
Progressive Writers' Association Ambala unit reorganized, new executive elected.
Ambala City, September 1: An important meeting of the Progressive Writers' Association (PWA) Ambala unit was held at the residence of Dr. Rattan Singh Dhillon, in which discussions were held on giving more momentum to the membership drive and the new constitution of the organization. The new executive was unanimously announced under the leadership of Tanveer Jafri, Master Jaipal, Anupama Sharma and Meena Naveen.

The new executive was unanimously announced under the leadership of Tanveer Jafri, Master Jaipal, Anupama Sharma and Meena Naveen.
According to the resolutions passed, Dr. Rattan Singh Dhillon and Dr. Pal Kaur were included in the Board of Patrons, while the names of Harbans Singh and Manmohan Maini were approved in the Advisory Board. The new executive was formed as follows:
President: Tanveer Jafri
Senior Vice President: Meena Naveen
Vice President: Rajinder Kaur
General Secretary: Prof. Gurdev Singh Dev
Joint Secretary: S.P. Bhatia
Treasurer: Yadvinder Singh
Publicity Secretary: Prof. Rajiv Chander Executive members include Dr Balwan Aujla, Praveen Khippal, Sanjeev Bhatia, Kirpal Singh, Dr Randhir Singh and Jagmal.
In the meeting, tribute was paid to eminent late writers Amrita Pritam and Pratima Domel. The litterateurs present paid homage to their memory by observing two minutes of silence and resolved that their creative thinking and life outlook will always remain alive in literature and society.
Dr Pal Kaur congratulated the new executive through an online message and said that the strength of the organization has meaning only when every member plays an active role. Dr Ratan Singh Dhillon congratulated writer Meena Naveen on receiving the Bharatendu Harishchandra Award and said that her writings are a clear sign of social consciousness and human sensitivity.
On this occasion, the presence of Naveen Kumar, Manoj Kumar, Bhagwant Singh and Sukhwinder Singh graced the function. The meeting showed that the PALES Ambala unit is moving forward with new energy and determination to become a bridge between literature and society.
