
BJP Vice President Dr. Subhash Sharma involved in helping flood victims in Sri Anandpur Sahib
Chandigarh, 11/09/2025:- The recent terrible flood (flood) has badly affected many villages including Nanagar, Bela Dhiani, Bhanam, Bunga, Kalyanpur and Plassey in Sri Anandpur Sahib assembly constituency. Crops were destroyed, houses were flooded and people's lives were disrupted. Villagers are struggling for everything from daily necessities to safe shelter. BJP's state vice president Dr. Subhash Sharma is personally reaching every village to listen to the voices of the flood victims who are desperate due to this disaster and to provide them relief.

Crops were destroyed, houses were flooded and people's lives were disrupted. Villagers are struggling for everything from daily necessities to safe shelter. BJP's state vice president Dr. Subhash Sharma is personally reaching every village to listen to the voices of the flood victims who are desperate due to this disaster and to provide them relief.
Dr. Sharma met the affected families, inquired about their well-being and distributed relief materials. He assessed the damage caused by water in the fields and two houses. On this occasion, he assured the villagers that all possible help would be provided to them. He appealed to immediately contact the concerned authorities and resolve the problems and said that the BJP and the Central Government stand with the people in every situation.
Dr. Sharma said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had already approved Rs. 12,000 crore for Punjab for disaster management and now an additional Rs. 1,600 crore has also been given as an immediate relief package. He said that this shows the sensitivity of the Central Government and its deep commitment to the people of Punjab. He assured that full compensation for the damage to crops, livestock and houses will be provided to the affected families.
Voice of the Villagers –
The villagers in Bela Dhiani village said that due to the lack of a permanent bridge, their problems increase manifold during floods. Dr. Sharma assured that he would take up the matter with the central government and try to resolve the issue soon. Similarly, people expressed concern about the problem of Dange (flood protection embankment) in Palasi village. Dr. Sharma spoke to the officials on the spot and demanded an immediate solution to this problem.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of "Sab da Saath, Sab da Vikas and Sab da Vishwas" is not just a slogan but a visible concept on the ground. The central government is taking all possible steps to bring Punjab out of this disaster.
After the tour of the villages, he also visited the Shri Laxmi Narayan Temple in Nangal, which has been damaged by the inundation of Sutlej Lake. He assured Shri Sanatan Dharam Sabha President Ramesh Gulati and other leaders that before starting the necessary work for the protection of the temple soon, a geo-survey will be conducted by experts from IET Rupnagar. During this, he also spoke to the Chairman of Bhakra Beas Management Board and said that BBMB should also ensure its contribution for the security of the temple.
