
Leprosy patients should not be discriminated against socially – Assistant Civil Surgeon.
Patiala, October 3:- On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, patients were informed about the symptoms of leprosy at Mata Kushallya Hospital, Patiala, regarding awareness and eradication of leprosy.

On this occasion, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Rachna said that we should not discriminate against leprosy patients in any way and socially. He said that the governments are making efforts to make India leprosy free. He said that leprosy is a skin disease which is caused by a special germ Lepra bacilli.
On this occasion, Dr. Amanpreet Kaur said that by getting this disease treated at the right time and properly, deformities and disabilities of body parts can be avoided. The treatment of this disease is done completely free of cost through multi drug therapy in all government hospitals, health centers and government dispensaries.
On this occasion, Mass Media Officer Kulbir Kaur, Jasjit Kaur, Deputy Mass Media Officer Jupinder Pal Kaur, BEE Shian Zafar, ANM Ranjit Kaur and Bittu were present with him.
