Hoshiarpur-As per the guidelines of Punjab Government and Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Pawan Kumar and under the able leadership of SMO Dr. Karan Kumar Saini, the National Eye Donation Fortnight is being organized from August 25 to September 8, 2025.
Giving information about this eye donation fortnight to be held at Civil Hospital Tanda, eye specialist Dr. Parminder Kaur said that eye donation is a great donation.
The eyes donated by us act as a light in the dark life of a visually impaired person, she said that the main purpose of organizing this block-level event to be held as per the guidelines issued by the Health Department is to make maximum people aware about eye donation.
During this, Dr. Parminder Kaur also shared important information regarding eye donation, she said that eye donation can be done only within 6 hours of death and it can be donated at any age. Only the eyes of a person suffering from AIDS, jaundice, blood cancer and brain fever cannot be donated.
On this occasion, besides others, Mr. Mahinder Singh MLA Jasbir Singh Raja's father, Dr. Kewal Singh former Deputy Director Punjab, State Awardee Bhai Barinder Singh Masiti, Ophthalmic Officer Jaswinder Singh, Avtar Singh BEE, Gurjit Singh Jaja, Kulvir Singh, Rajiv Pal Singh, Jatinder Singh etc. were present.
