Garhshankar, June 9- What benefit did the common people get from the sewerage work that started several months ago on Birampur Road in Garhshankar? The problem created by the dug road is increasing instead of decreasing. The Mandi Board road built to complete this work in Ward No. 5 near the railway gate of Garhshankar was first dug up.
After which ponds were made at various places, the pipeline for the sewerage line was laid underground. After laying the pipeline, no pre-mix has been put on this road till date, due to which water accumulates at various places even in light rain and due to the clay soil in this area, there is light waterlogging at various places.
Even when it rains, the water accumulates and creates chaos, due to which it becomes a big challenge to move here on foot, two-wheeler or any other big vehicle. Common people stop going to this area even when there is light rain, which becomes a separate problem for the families living in the houses in this area.
It also becomes difficult for them to get out of their homes. People have reached the Municipal Council officials many times to tell their problem, but no permanent solution is being done to solve their problems.
People demand that after completing this sewerage project, a new road should be built immediately, so that people do not have any problem in coming and going to their homes. In the coming time, the rainy season is coming closer and these people are already worried about how they will come to their homes.

What does the councilor have to say?
When Ward Councilor Deepak Kumar Deepa was talked to in this regard, he said that this road is under the Mandi Board and this work is being done by the Sewerage Board. There is no interference of the Municipal Council in this. However, he has told every officer at his level.
He admitted that the problem of the people is very big. However, he expressed hope that the concerned department and the contractor will solve the problem soon keeping in mind the problems of the people. Mohalla resident Karamjit Singh Mugowal said that all the residents of the locality have told the local MLA, Deputy Speaker, Punjab Government, Municipal Council officials about this issue many times, but their problem is not being solved and is not being heard seriously. He said that all the residents of the locality are upset that they have been left to their own devices.
