Under this, Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Isha Singal visited Hariau Kala, Hariau Khurd, Dotal, Shutrana, Jekhar and other villages. SDM Patdar Ashok Kumar and Agriculture Extension Officer Ravinderpal Singh Chatha were also present on this occasion.
On this occasion, during the awareness camps organized in the villages, ADC Isha Singal said that farmers should use in situ techniques to increase the fertility of the land and reduce the use of fertilizers. He said that while this will bring financial benefits to the farmers, the environment will also be prevented from getting polluted. Talking to the farmers, he said that the farmers of Patiala district are adopting new technologies for stubble management, which is commendable.
He also appealed to the farmers to plant wheat without burning the stubble in order to save the environment from pollution and maintain the fertility of the mother earth. He said that for this reason, the government has given large machinery to the farmers on subsidy, by using which this sowing can be done.
