Traffic Police organized a seminar to make students aware of the use of drugs and to follow traffic rules.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, August 21: Under the guidelines given by SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans and SP (Traffic) Navneet Singh Mahal under the campaign against drugs and awareness of traffic rules, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Traffic, Karnail Singh today organized a special seminar to make students aware of drugs and follow traffic rules at Shishu Niketan Public School, Sector 66, Mohali, SAS Nagar.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, August 21: Under the guidelines given by SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans and SP (Traffic) Navneet Singh Mahal under the campaign against drugs and awareness of traffic rules, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Traffic, Karnail Singh today organized a special seminar to make students aware of drugs and follow traffic rules at Shishu Niketan Public School, Sector 66, Mohali, SAS Nagar.
The main objective of this seminar was to make the school students aware of the ill effects of drugs, the importance of following traffic rules and going in for sports. During the seminar, the school students were made aware that some wrong elements lure students and make them addicted to drugs, so be safe from such bad elements.
Along with this, the students were also told that under Section 199A of the Motor Vehicle Act, if a child below the age of 18 drives a vehicle, then his parents can be imprisoned for 3 years, a fine of up to Rs. 25 thousand and the person who gives a vehicle to a child below the age of 18 can also be imprisoned for 3 years or fined.
Along with this, the students were made aware of the Scheme for Grant of Award to the Good Samaritan run by the government and it was told that if a person helps a person who has met with an accident, then he is given Rs. 2000 by the government (under the Ferishte Scheme).
On this occasion, Principal Harjit Kaur, Coordinator Harjinder Kaur and other staff of Shishu Niketan Public School, Sector 66, Mohali, SAS Nagar thanked DSP Traffic for organizing this awareness seminar. Sardar Karnail Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic) finally motivated all the students to go for sports.
Apart from this, all the students were told that today is "World Elders Day", the purpose of which is to give a message of respect and full care to our elders. He said that we should spend time with our elders every day, because we get to learn a lot from our elders.
