While Gandhi showed us the path of truth, non-violence, and Satyagraha, he shook the foundations of the British with movements like the Non-Cooperation Movement, the Dandi March, and the Quit India Movement. He believed that "non-violence is the greatest power." By living a simple life, he gave the message to the entire world that there is no greater power than truth and morality. Lal Bahadur Shastri, the second Prime Minister of independent India, was a very simple and honest leader.
They gave us the slogan "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan," which awakened a wave of confidence and patriotism among the countrymen. The 1965 Indo-Pak war was fought under their leadership, and they inspired farmers to work hard and make the country self-sufficient in food grains.
