Organic Farming Awareness and Training Camp Organized by Punjab Agro

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 23 September: With the aim of promoting poison-free crop production across Punjab and providing free certification facilities, Punjab Agro, under its entity Punjab Agri Export Corporation, organized a district-level training and awareness camp at village Nangal Badian in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 23 September: With the aim of promoting poison-free crop production across Punjab and providing free certification facilities, Punjab Agro, under its entity Punjab Agri Export Corporation, organized a district-level training and awareness camp at village Nangal Badian in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar. During the event, S. Amrit Singh Chahal from Wahigurupura Natural Farm, District Barnala, participated as the chief speaker and shared insights on various methods and techniques of organic farming as well as its marketing.
District Supervisor Satwinder Singh Paily informed that since 2015, Punjab Agro has been providing free registration, group certification, bio-fertilizers, and materials for preparing bio-compost to farmers practicing organic farming in Punjab. Under this initiative, approximately 125 farmers and 300 acres of land have already been registered in the district.
Subsequently, Dr. Gurpreet Singh (Agricultural Development Officer), Navdeep Kaur (Agricultural Development Officer), and Sukhjinder Kaur (ATMA) emphasized that a balanced diet containing adequate vitamins, proteins, minerals, and other nutritional elements is essential for human health. They stated that vegetables should be included in the daily diet, and organic farming is a good alternative for this purpose.
During the event, Jaspal Singh (Executive) shared detailed methods for pest management and the preparation of various organic substances to prevent pests through organic methods. He also provided farmers with information about training programs.
Vishwadeep Singh (Executive) from Punjab Agro explained the registration process for organic farming to the farmers.
Progressive organic farmers of the district, including Yadavinder Singh, Davinder Singh, Harmandeep Singh Gill, Dharam Singh Gill, Jagdeep Singh, and Gurikbal Singh, advised farmers to use organic substances prepared at the household level instead of chemical pesticides. 
They also recommended selling their produce directly to consumers at the Chandigarh Organic Market, organized by Punjab Agro every Saturday from 4 PM to 6 PM at the Punjab Agro Industries Corporation Head Office in Sector 28A.
