Nawanshahr- Under the “Planting on Birthdays” campaign of SKT Plantation Team working for environmental conservation, social worker Bahadur Chand Arora celebrated his 79th birthday by planting trees. He planted trees in Teacher Colony Park along with SKT Plantation Team. It is noteworthy that this team has been motivating the city residents to plant trees on their birthdays and other special occasions for the last 9 years.
On this occasion, Bahadur Chand Arora said that nature has given us everything, now it is our duty to repay its debt. Planting trees is not a burden, but a small step taken for Mother Earth. If we plant trees today, then tomorrow our breath will be safe.
SKT Plantation Team Conductor Ankush Nijhawan said that saving the environment is not the job of any one organization, but the responsibility of the entire society. Our team only motivates people, but the real change will come when every person himself comes forward to plant trees. He appealed to the city residents to celebrate their birthday as "Environment Day" and participate in this noble cause by planting at least one sapling.
President of Vishwas Sewa Society Parvinder Batra said that to protect the environment, we will have to do more than just talk. Just as Bahadur Chand Arora ji has taken a step towards environmental conservation by planting trees on his birthday, similarly we will also have to take this campaign forward.
