
For health safety, the Food Safety Department is conducting a special surveillance campaign across the district.
Hoshiarpur- Under this campaign, today, as per the orders of the Honorable Commissioner, FDA Punjab Mr. Dilraj Singh IAS and Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur Mrs. Ashika Jain IASG, the Food Safety Team, under the guidance of the Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Balbir Kumar and District Health Officer Dr. Jatinder Bhatia, collected 02 milk, 01 pickle and 02 paneer samples from the sweet shops of the city under the leadership of Food Safety Officer Vivek Kumar. These suspicious samples will be sent to the laboratory for scientific examination and appropriate action will be taken under the Food Safety Act on receipt of the report.

On this occasion, Food Safety Officer Vivek Kumar said that under this campaign, continuous inspection of sweet shops, bakeries, restaurants, wholesale depots and markets is being done and special attention is being paid to the quality and cleanliness of food items, so that the sale of adulteration and unsafe ingredients can be banned. He appealed to all consumers to take special care of cleanliness and the expiry date and FSSAI license number mentioned on the packaging while buying food items.
If adulterated or suspicious ingredients are sold at any place, then information regarding this should be given immediately to the Food Safety Department. He said that the Health Department is taking all possible steps to ensure the availability of clean and healthy food and drinks, so that the joy of festivals can be celebrated without any health hazard.
