Nawanshahr: As per the instructions received from the Director Women and Child Development Department Punjab, orders have been given by Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman to implement the project Pan India campaign against child labour. Under this, today, on the instructions of District Program Officer Jagroop Singh, the District Task Force under the leadership of District Child Protection Officer Kanchan Arora checked against child labour on Chandigarh Road, Banga Road, Railway Road and during the checking, the team rescued three children below the age of 18.
The Labor Officer present on the spot also issued challans to the two shops concerned. After rescuing the children, the team of the District Child Protection Unit presented them before the Child Welfare Committee, so that further action can be taken to ensure the safety of the children. On this occasion, the District Child Protection Officer made the shopkeepers and the general public aware that it is a crime to make children below the age of 18 work.
