Chandigarh, July 21 - Haryana Minister of State for Sports, Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship and Law Shri Gaurav Gautam said that unity in diversity of India is the greatest strength. In this series, to realize the vision of Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat and to promote cultural harmony, the Haryana Government will organize a three-day international youth exchange program at Kurukshetra University from 23 to 25 July 2025.
Haryana Minister of State for Sports Shri Gaurav Gautam said this in a press conference here today.
He said that about 600 youth from 24 states will participate in this program and in which there will be an exchange of culture of different communities. During this, various competitions will be organized, including group fog dance, group singing, cultural activities etc.
Sports Minister Mr. Gaurav said that on 31 October 2015, on the occasion of the 140th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had launched the Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat program. He said that this event will be a great platform for the youth to showcase their talents.
Through this program, one state will come face to face with the culture and art of another state. During this, the values of unity, equality and brotherhood among different communities will be promoted. At present, many other states are inspired by the influence of Haryana's art and culture and sports.
He said that the aim of this program is to prepare strong youth committed to nation building and harmony. This is not just an event, but an opportunity for the youth to develop their personality, develop leadership skills and play an active role in nation building.
The Sports Minister said that the Sports Mahakumbh will start from Panchkula on August 2, 2025. Players will show their strength and skills in various events in this grand event. He said that the state government has opened more than 1500 sports nurseries in the state to promote sports. The government has a target of building 500 sports nurseries every year. In response to a question, the Sports Minister said that the opposition has no issue. The law and order situation in the state is strong and the police is dealing strictly with the culprits.
