Laldoo, September 28 - Members of Punjab Field and Workshop Workers Union branch Laldoo, Jagjit Singh, Amarnath, Sukhwinder Singh, Amit, Rinku went on a hunger strike in front of the Nagar Parishad Laldoo office in protest against the demands of the employees. 
During this, the head of the employee union, Praveen Kumar, said that the contractor has not deposited the PF and ESI of the employees working as sanitation workers for the last 10-12 years under Nagar Kaushal Laldoo, whereas the EO has to deposit the PF and ESI money and take the challan form from the contractor. But due to the alleged collusion of the Nagar Parishad office with the contractor, the contractor has been paid every month without taking the challan form. 
Due to which the employees have suffered huge losses. Apart from this, the money deducted from the salary of the employees for 18 days should be released and bonus, gratuity should be given to the employees as per the orders of the government and the claim for the death of Baljinder Singh Shifsa Sevak during duty was not given. Apart from this, the employees working with the contractor should be given experience certificate and appointment letter as per the policy of the Punjab government. Due to non-payment of wages and dues as per the increased rate by the Labor Department, a continuous sit-in was held in front of the Municipal Council office regarding these demands. And now today on 28 September, the employees remained on hunger strike for the second day.
During which no summary of the employees was taken by the Executive Officer and Council officials, due to which there is a lot of protest among the employees. The organization decided that till the anti-employee policies of the Council officials are not stopped and the legitimate demands of the employees are not accepted, the employees will remain on hunger strike every day. In the meantime, if there is any loss of life or property, then the Municipal Council officials and administration will be responsible.
