Patiala, January 9 - The Punjab government has released an amount of Rs. 48 lakh to the farmers who have done direct sowing of paddy in district Patiala and this amount has been directly deposited in the farmers' accounts.
Deputy Commissioner Patiala Sakshi Sahni said that the farmers who directly sow paddy during the drought have been given an amount of Rs. 1500/- per acre after verification. So that the level of underground falling water can be saved And other farmers can be motivated to adopt this method. On this occasion, Chief Agriculture Officer Patiala Dr. Jaswinder Singh said that the yield of paddy sown with DSR method is equal to that of paddy planted with pumpkin. And the cost at the time of sowing is less. He appealed to the farmers to coordinate with the Agriculture Department regarding the prevention of weeds while adopting this method So that weeds can be eradicated in time.
