Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, May 5: Under the guidance of Shri Deepak Pareek, SSP Mohali and as per the directions of Shri Navneet Mahal, SP Traffic, Mohali, Shri Karnail Singh, DSP Traffic Police, Mohali and Havildar Davinder Singh, Incharge Traffic Zone Saneta, a public meeting was held at Village Raipur Kalan, Sector 108, District SAS Nagar.
During this meeting, people were made aware of the ill effects of drugs. Apart from this, detailed information was given to the people on traffic rules. He appealed to people not to drive under the influence of drugs and to make others aware about this, not to drive under the age of 18, not to drive in lane, not to use pressure horns, not to park vehicles on the road properly, to use indicators while turning left and right, not to burst firecrackers deliberately on a bullet-motorcycle. He also urged the scooter driver and the person sitting behind to wear a good quality ISI marked helmet. He especially made people aware about standing at the red light even when there is no one coming or going from any direction. He also said that we should follow traffic rules not to avoid challans but to be good citizens for the safety of ourselves and others.
Along with this, people were also made aware about the Scheme for Grant of Award to the Good Samaritan scheme run by the government and it was told that if any person helps a person who has met with an accident, then he will be given Rs. 2000 by the government (under the Feriste scheme).
On this occasion, Sarpanch Manvir Singh of village Raipur Kalan, Sector 108, district SAS Nagar and other villagers thanked DSP Traffic for organizing this seminar against drugs. Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic finally motivated the entire public to go for sports. Apart from this, it was explained that you should inform your family members about the education received from this seminar and motivate them to follow traffic rules.
