Chetan Singh Jaudamajra said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann's goal is to make maximum use of canal water to save underground water and make it reach every farm and tails so that dependence on tubewells for irrigation in Punjab can be reduced. He said that the underground water is decreasing, so if we do not fulfill our duty honestly, the next generations will not forgive us.
The Minister of Water Resources gave clear instructions to the officers of his department that the policy and intention of the Punjab government is very clear, so the problems faced by the farmers should be solved, but also the illegal encroachments on the canals of the canal department should be vacated. He prepared a proposal for this and gave strict instructions to re-use the land if it becomes vacant during the upcoming season of rubber. He also appealed to the farmers to leave the gaps by supporting the department to get canal water in their land.
Cabinet Minister Jauda Majra gave strict instructions to all the officers to go to the field and said that they will hold a review meeting every month so that they should prepare a complete detail of the work they have done and they should not depend on their subordinates and employees. He said that no farmer should face any problem while getting the work done by the Water Resources Department and full use of the moghe used for water in the fields should be ensured.
