SAS Nagar, November 8 - Mohali shot put player Joy Baidwan has created a new national record by throwing a shot put of 15.19 meters during the ongoing National Games at Coimbatore. Joy Baidwan is the daughter of social activist and farmer leader Paramdeep Singh Baidwan of Mataur.
S. Paramdeep Singh Baidwan said that in the ongoing 38th Junior National Athletic Championship at the Nehru Stadium in Coimbatore, Joy Baidwan won the first place for the Punjab team in the under-14 category.
In this competition, Anna Kothari of Gujarat took the second place by throwing a shot of 13.60 meters and Riya Yadav of Haryana took the third place by throwing a shot of 13.01 meters. A total of 14 players participated in this competition.
