Una, November 4 - District Magistrate Raghav Sharma has issued orders in view of Diwali festival. In the orders he has said that only green firecrackers will be stored and sold during Diwali festival. He said that all the sub-divisional magistrates of the district will identify suitable places in their respective jurisdictions for the sale of green firecrackers.
District Magistrate issued instructions regarding green firecrackers
The Deputy Commissioner said that green firecrackers should be kept in sheds made of non-flammable material. For the sale of green crackers, it is mandatory to have sheds at a distance of at least three meters from each other. Display of green crackers will not be allowed within a radius of fifty meters of any shed. The sheds should not be facing each other. Oil burning lamps and gas lamps will not be used within the safety distance in the shed. The switches in each shop should be adjacent to the wall and there should also be a master switch for each row of shed. To deal with any incident of fire, it is necessary to have adequate water available in the shop/stall and a fire extinguisher and buckets filled with sand. He said that no person will be allowed to stock and sell green crackers without obtaining a license from the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of the concerned jurisdiction for setting up a fire crackers stall. Temporary license holders can also apply under Ease of Doing Business Services through the e-District portal. He said that all the Sub-Divisional Officers, DSPs and SHOs will ensure compliance with the decision issued by the Honorable Supreme Court regarding green firecrackers.
The Deputy Commissioner said that on Diwali and other festivals like Guru Parv, green firecrackers will be allowed to be burst only from 8 pm to 10 pm. Apart from this, bursting of firecrackers will be allowed only from 11:55 midnight to 12:30 am on Christmas and New Year.
