
District Red Cross Society made youths who gave up drugs self-reliant
Hoshiarpur - Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal and SSP Surendra Lamba today distributed certificates to 25 youths who completed the skill course at Drug De-addiction and Rehabilitation Center Hoshiarpur and wished them a good future. The District Red Cross Society, taking a special initiative last year, had started two skilled courses for Multi Kunis Cook and Hairdresser and Salon Artist here, the first batch of which was given certificates on completion of the course today. Thanks to the efforts of the Red Cross Society, these young people have now become self-reliant.

Speaking during the certificate distribution ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner said that the purpose of the skilled courses that the district administration has started for the youth who quit drugs is to make them stand on their own feet. He said that after this 45-day course, these youths have become skilled and can start their own business after leaving the center. He said that if they need any help to stand on their feet, then the employment department will help them fully. He said that after completing this course, these young people will establish themselves in the society along with a new identity. He said that in the first batch, 15 people have completed the skilled course of Multi Kunis Cook and 10 people of Hairdresser and Salon Artist. He said that people caught in the trap of drug addiction can give a new direction to their lives by taking advantage of Hoshiarpur drug addiction and rehabilitation center.
SSP Surendra Lamba said that this very best initiative has been taken by the district administration to rehabilitate the youth trapped in the drug trap. Staying in the drug addiction center, where the youth have given up drugs, they have also given proof of being mentally strong by taking a skilled course. He said that this is a big victory of the Punjab government in the war against drugs and our youth have given up drugs and are now standing on their own feet. Meanwhile, he talked to the youth admitted to the center and encouraged them.
On this occasion Secretary Red Cross Society Mangesh Sood, Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr Harbans Kaur, Medical Officer Sahil Deep Sallan, Career Counselor Aditya Rana, Manager Nisha Kumari, Counselor Rajwinder Kaur, Prashant Kumar, Red Cross Society members Rajiv Bajaj, Ramesh Kumari, Sarabjit Apart from Singh, Manav Kumar, Deepika, Abhishek Pathak, Sunil Kumar and other dignitaries were also present.
