The following activities were planned by Punjab Postal Circle during the entire National Postal Week.

Hoshiarpur Division Senior Superintendent of Post Office Shri Charanjit Singh informed the press that the Department of Posts is going to celebrate “National Postal Week” from October 9, 2023 to October 13, 2023.National Postal Week begins every year on 9 October with World Post Day which is the anniversary of the establishment of the Universal Postal Union. The theme of this year's World Post Day is "Connection for Faith".
The following activities were planned by Punjab Postal Circle during the entire National Postal Week.
October 10, 2023 will be celebrated as Financial Empowerment Day and on this day Postal Chaupal (Postal Community Development Programme) will be organized by each postal division in the Punjab circle. Dak Chaupal is a comprehensive community program through which various postal services will be provided to the public in a single camp. At Dak Chaupal, the public will be provided facility for opening savings bank account, Sukanya Samriddhi account, Mahila Samman Certificate, purchasing postal life insurance policy and Aadhaar enrollment and updation. All these facilities and services will be provided under one roof in rural/remote areas.
October 11, 2023 will be observed as Philately Day and seminars and quiz activities will be organized in schools on the topic “Digital India for the New India”.
October 12, 2023 will be celebrated as Mail and Parcel Day. Customer meetings for wholesale and retail customers will be organized in all major cities of the State of Punjab and Union Territory Chandigarh. Customers will be informed about new initiatives taken under various parcel and mail services of the department. They will be exposed to various features of parcel tracker for wholesale customers. Awareness will be created regarding end to end tracking, expected date of delivery, return pick up, COD facility, click and book service, OTP based delivery.
  October 13, 2023 will be celebrated as "Antyodaya Diwas". Awareness camps will be organized in rural/remote areas and urban slums for Aadhaar enrollment and updation. People will also be made aware about various social security schemes like Jan Suraksha Yojana, Aadhar Enabled Payment Service, Social Security Pension, Direct Benefit Transfer etc.
  Punjab Postal Circle is continuously taking various steps to make its mark in the socio-economic development of the country. To provide uninterrupted and reliable mail services, the Department has developed an extensive road transport network across Punjab and Chandigarh, with 83 mail vehicles running day and night within Punjab and connecting Punjab with Delhi, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. Are. A daily special mail vehicle has been started from Ludhiana to Delhi Foreign Post for transportation of international items booked at the post offices of Punjab and Chandigarh. As a result of these initiatives, Punjab Circle has witnessed a spectacular growth of 67% in revenue from international articles which is perhaps the highest in the country. Hoshiarpur division has achieved PO revenue of Rs 3.75 crore which is the highest in Punjab West region. As per public demand, attractive packaging facilities for national and international articles have been provided in many post offices of Punjab and Chandigarh.
  During the Rakhi season, Punjab Postal Circle designed and supplied special Rakhi envelopes and boxes for the safe transmission of Rakhis in India and abroad. As a result of this initiative, more than 1.35 lakh Rakhi envelopes and boxes were sold in Punjab circle and the circle earned additional revenue of about Rs 6 crore from booking of Rakhi mails and Hoshiarpur division achieved 100% sales of 8900 Rakhi envelopes and boxes. Apart from this, special arrangements were made by the circle for prompt delivery of Rakhi all over Punjab and Chandigarh.
It is also informed that 498 Aadhaar centers have been set up in post offices of Punjab and Chandigarh for Aadhaar enrollment and updation. To provide a single window facility to the exporters to book their goods and complete all the formalities from a single counter in the post office, 22 Postal Export Centers have been set up and there are 47 Base Centers and 1 Postal Export Center in Hoshiarpur Division. It is a matter of pride that during the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign in August, 2023, Punjab Postal Circle distributed 2.5 lakh flags in Punjab and Chandigarh and Hoshiarpur circle distributed 19420 flags. Punjab Postal Circle has around 68 lakh live POSB accounts, out of which 7.37 lakh are Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana accounts, 1.02 lakh Postal Life Insurance policies and 3.34 lakh Gramin Postal Life Insurance policies and Hoshiarpur division has 560111 live accounts, 61549 Sukanya Samriddhi accounts, 19112 There are Postal Life Insurance and 31101 Rural Postal Life Insurance policies.
