Hoshiarpur- Eye donation is a great gift and this donation is a boon for the visually impaired. This great gift not only provides social and economic strength to the visually impaired, but also gives self-satisfaction to the donor. This was expressed jointly by District Public Relations Officer Hoshiarpur Hardev Singh Aasi and State Awardee Bhai Barinder Singh Masiti, Tanda Incharge of Eye Donation Association Hoshiarpur, during the campaign of the 40th National Eye Donation Fortnight.
Hoshiarpur- Eye donation is a great gift and this donation is a boon for the visually impaired. On this occasion, Hardev Singh Aasi said that the Punjab government is fully committed to ending blindness. He said that the Eye Donation Fortnight is being celebrated in all government hospitals of Punjab from August 25 to September 8. Under which, along with eye examination by expert doctors, people are also being made aware about eye donation, so that blindness can be eradicated from the root.
On this occasion, Bhai Masiti said that the eyes of a deceased person can be donated within five to six hours of death and a person of all ages can donate eyes. Whether he has lenses or has undergone any eye surgery.
Only the eyes of a person suffering from AIDS, jaundice, blood cancer and brain fever cannot be donated. Assistant Public Relations Officer Lokesh Kumar and Rajnish Kumar Guliani were also present on this occasion.
