Method demonstration of paddy straw bale shredder and mulching machine

Hoshiarpur - Department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana in collaboration with PAU Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hoshiarpur and Vegetable Research Centre, Khanora, has developed a paddy straw baler shredder-cum-mulcher machine for mulching paddy straw into turmeric. (Paddy Straw Bale Dog' and Mulching Machine) method demonstration was successfully conducted in the turmeric fields of award winning progressive farmer Amritpal Singh Randhawa of village Fuglana in Hoshiarpur district.

Giving information in this regard, Professor Farm Machinery and Power Engineering Department, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, Dr. Baldev Dogra said that this machine can be easily operated with a tractor of 35 or more horse power. And the capacity of this machine is 6-7 acres per day. He said that this machine shreds the straw of the baler and easily spreads this shredded straw in the field as mulch.
Associate Director (Training) Krishi Vigyan Kendra Hoshiarpur Dr. Maninder Singh Bounce explained in detail about the benefits of mulching in fields and said that mulching is a technique in which the growth of weeds is controlled by preserving soil moisture. Can be done And the plants get the right environment for growth. Amritpal Singh Randhawa expressed his satisfaction regarding the performance of the machine and said that he will use this technology in his turmeric fields. During this method demonstration, Vegetable Scientist, Vegetable Research Farm, Khanora Dr. Navjot Singh Brar and Assistant Professor (Agricultural Engineering) KVK, Dr. Ajaib Singh were also present.
