Garhshankar, June 29 - Planting more and more shade trees to reduce global warming is becoming a big need of the hour and every person should plant at least one tree in his life. These words were expressed by Sarpanch Mr. Somnath Rana, who has been serving village Majari for the past 28 years, on the occasion of performing the plantation ceremony. Dedicated to his motherland, women empowerment and the participation of mothers and sisters in every work, Mr. Rana conducted the plantation ceremony this year by getting the saplings planted by the hands of the elders Mrs. Sandhya Devi Ji and Mrs. Sakuntala Devi Ji.
Sarpanch Mr. Rana said that trees play an important role in preserving the environment, improving air quality, and protecting the health of water and soil. A clean and pollution-free environment is very important to ensure good health of the citizens because trees are the source of oxygen, which is the basis of human life on earth.
It is worth noting that the plants planted last year have been 100 percent successful due to the hard work of the youth, among which the Triveni near the temple Siddh Sri Baba Balak Nath Ji has become the center of attraction. In Triveni, Peepal, Banyan and Neem trees are planted at one place. Apart from this, while Triveni has its own place in Punjabi culture, the combination of these three trees also plays a big role in keeping the air clean.
Sarpanch Shri Somnath Rana also appreciated all the youth involved in the plantation drive, who have been continuously making efforts to plant and maintain the trees for the last 6 years. He said that to keep the surroundings green, where a plantation campaign is conducted every year by the youth, security is also provided by installing fences to protect the plants from helpless animals. He stressed on all the residents of the town to cooperate in this noble act of planting trees as well as in maintaining them, which is our moral responsibility.
He humbly appealed to the residents of the village that for relief from the heat of Jeth-Haad and the desire for cool air, where 2 buckets of water are put in their coolers, one should also take care of putting a pot in these plants.
On this occasion, along with Sarpanch Somnath Rana, Satwinder Rana, Rakesh Rana, Numberdar Subhash Rana, Vidyasagar, Sanju Rana, Raghubinder Rana, Daljit Bhatti, Subh Rana, Jassi Rana, Pramod Rana, Shiv Kumar Rana, Satish Rana (Gabbar), Sandeep Kumar, Baljit Rana, Karan Rana, Sahil Rana, Nitin Mann, Gagan, Pradeep Rana, and other volunteer companions were also present.
