SAS Nagar, June 10 - Mayor of Mohali Municipal Corporation Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu started the work of laying premix on internal roads in Ward No. 49 of Phase 6. The premix already laid on these roads will be completely uprooted and premix will be laid afresh. Councillor of the area Gurpreet Kaur and her husband, social worker Lakhbir Singh, were specially present on this occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu said that Rs 91 lakh is being spent on this work. He said that before the rains, wherever there is a need to put premix on internal roads in Mohali, premix is ??being put there.
He said that in this regard, resolutions were passed in the Finance and Contract Committee of Mohali Municipal Corporation and the General Assembly meeting of Mohali Municipal Corporation. After this, tenders were issued and the work was started.
He said that the people of Mohali have given him a great honor by making him the mayor and along with it a huge responsibility, which he is making every possible effort to fulfill. He said that no kind of discrimination will be allowed in development works.
He also instructed the officers present on the occasion that there should be no compromise in the quality of the work being done and the concerned officers should check the development work being done from time to time.
He said that a survey has been conducted by the Municipal Corporation to protect the people from the impact of water during the rainy season. Its model has been prepared, and it is estimated to cost Rs 200 crore.
He demanded from the Punjab government that Rs 200 crore should be immediately given to the Mohali Municipal Corporation as a grant so that this work can be completed. He said that once this work is completed, people will not have to face the brunt of rainwater in any area of ????Mohali.
