Una, April 28- In the series of various events being organized for social public awareness in the state level Haroli festival, a road safety and de-addiction awareness marathon was organized on Monday. This marathon, jointly organized by the Transport and Sports Department of the state, was flagged off by Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri.

About 200 children participated in this race in junior and senior categories of boys and girls, organized on the longest bridge of Himachal Pradesh - Haroli Rampur Bridge.
Amazing enthusiasm was seen among children and youth in this marathon organized with the aim of increasing public awareness towards road safety and spreading the message of de-addiction to the people.
On this occasion, while talking to the media, the Deputy Chief Minister said that we are working with commitment to make Una - Himachal drug free. The state government has made strict laws against drugs and is continuously running awareness campaigns to make the society drug free.
He said that this time the theme of the state level Haroli festival has been kept as drug prevention. The movement against drug addiction has gained momentum from the land of Haroli. In the year 2023, Governor Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla started a big campaign against drug addiction from Haroli itself. This time also, while inaugurating the festival, the Governor has given strength to this campaign.
On this occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister awarded prizes to the participants who stood first in every category in the marathon. He gave cash prizes of about 25 thousand rupees to 24 winners.

In the junior category of boys, Krishna stood first, Hrithik second, Puneet Kumar third, Lakshya fourth, Abhishek Kumar fifth and Zahid Hussain sixth.
At the same time, in the junior category of girls, Divya stood first, Ritika Verma second, Palak third, Vanshika fourth, Babita fifth and Ashita sixth.
Apart from this, in the senior category of boys, Sarabjot got the first place, Saurabh second, Arun third, Rihaan fourth, Saavan fifth, and Anmol got the sixth place.
In the senior category of girls, Jyoti Bala got the first place, Raveena second, Nidhi third, Navya fourth, Vaishali fifth, and Navya sixth.
On this occasion, Dr. Aastha Agnihotri, Sub Divisional Officer Vishal Sharma, Regional Transport Officer Ashok Kumar Kalsi, District Sports and Youth Services Officer Uttam Dod, representatives of local panchayats Subhadra Chaudhary, Ramana Devi and a large number of local residents were present.
