
Medical camps organized during three-day special campaign in flood-affected villages
Patiala September 17- In order to provide better health facilities to the people in flood-affected villages, the Health Department, Patiala, under the leadership of Civil Surgeon Dr. Jagpal Inder Singh, organized special medical camps in 145 villages for three days from September 14 to 16.

Medical officers, pharmacists, staff nurses, paramedical staff and ASHA workers participated in these medical camps. The teams of the Health Department organized 142 camps and treated 9031 patients, of which 968 were fever cases and 1414 were skin infection cases.
ASHA workers visited 22637 houses and conducted a survey. During the survey, a medical kit was given to each household, which contained a strip of paracetamol, citrazin, Dettol soap, antifungal cream, GV paint, band-aid and adomus cream.
On this occasion, 439 patients were tested for malaria by ASHA workers, in which no case was found positive. The teams of the health department checked dengue larvae in 24791 households. During this, larvae were found in 1186 households, which were destroyed on the spot. At this time, people were made aware about dengue, malaria, chikungunya and water-borne diseases.
District Epidemiologist Dr. Sumit Singh inspected the villages of block Dudhan-Sadhan and Ghanaur areas. He said that spraying has been done in 140 paddies and fogging is being done in 128 villages. He said that the activity of checking and fogging dengue larvae will continue in the coming time as well.
He appealed that if any villager complains of fever, then the village ASHA worker, Panchayat or the staff of the nearest dispensary should be informed so that the patient can be tested on the spot and medicine can be given to the patient.
