Mumbai, June 6 - The Enforcement Directorate on Friday conducted searches at various premises of actor Dino Morea and others in Maharashtra, apart from some places in Kerala, government sources said. The fraud is alleged to have caused a loss of Rs 65 crore to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.

The fraud is alleged to have caused a loss of Rs 65 crore to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
The raids are covering more than 15 premises located in Mumbai and Kochi. Sources said that this includes premises of Morea, his brother, contractors and some others. They said that the investigation is being conducted under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. The ED case against some BMC officials and some others has arisen from an FIR filed by the Economic Offences Wing of the Mumbai Police to investigate alleged irregularities in the cleaning of Mithi Nadi. This caused a loss of Rs 65 crore to the Municipal Corporation.
A few days ago, the EOW had questioned Moria in this case. The EOW had registered a case against 13 persons, including Municipal Corporation officials and contractors, for their alleged involvement in the scam.
