AAP Chandigarh dispatches relief material to flood-hit Fazilka in Punjab.

Chandigarh, September 6, 2025- AAP Chandigarh on Saturday dispatched a truck loaded with relief material to flood-hit Fazilka district of Punjab. This district is one of the worst-affected areas, where entire villages are under about 15 feet of water.

Chandigarh, September 6, 2025- AAP Chandigarh on Saturday dispatched a truck loaded with relief material to flood-hit Fazilka district of Punjab. This district is one of the worst-affected areas, where entire villages are under about 15 feet of water.
The relief material was flagged off by Sunny Singh Ahluwalia (Co-in-charge Chandigarh and General Secretary Punjab). The convoy was accompanied by Omkar Singh Aulakh (General Secretary), PP Ghai (Convenor Disciplinary Committee), JD Ghai (Treasurer), Councilor Ram Chandra Yadav, Maloya Youth President Abhiman Yadav and Rahul V, and State Media Incharge Vikrant A Tanwar, who will personally supervise the distribution of relief material in the affected villages.
AAP Chandigarh President Vijaypal Singh appreciated the spirit of unity shown by the city residents. He said, “When our brothers and sisters in Punjab are facing unprecedented difficulties, Chandigarh has contributed generously. From households to servicemen, everyone has contributed in their own way. This unity is our real strength. The Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Mann is continuously working to save people, provide shelter and normalize the situation. Together we will overcome this disaster and stand again stronger.”
Contributions were made in this relief campaign rising above religion, caste and class. Everyone, rich and poor, contributed. SC cell and ward presidents also made special contributions. Councilors contributed separately from their wards, such as Subhan Sharma, Shadab Rathi, Ramchandra, Hardeep, Jasbir Ladi, Prem Lata and Sandeep Dahiya.
State Media Incharge Vikrant A. Tanwar said that the relief material includes more than 500 ration kits, 150 Cipladine cream, 150 Odomos packs, sufficient paracetamol tablets, more than 100 torches, 4 cotton boxes, 5 boxes of sanitary pads (48 pieces each), more than 200 boxes of small water bottles and more than 100 boxes of large water bottles.
Keeping in mind the long-term need, more than 50 packets of 5 kg flour, more than 50 boxes of candles and matches, 5 bags of milk powder of 25 kg each, more than 100 tarpaulins and more than 150 mosquito nets have also been included in this. Apart from this, the relief material also includes 100 shoes-slippers, diapers, medicines and more than 1,000 empty cement bags. He further said that two boats have also been arranged to take relief to the completely submerged villages.
Secretary General Omkar Singh Aulakh thanked the people of Chandigarh. He said, “This is just the beginning. We are taking the responsibility to ensure that these essential materials are delivered directly to Fazilka and the surrounding villages. Our efforts will continue till Punjab is fully restored. Punjabis living in any corner of the world, they have always maintained the tradition of service.”
The AAP Chandigarh leadership said that this campaign is not just a one-time initiative, but a continuous humanitarian effort. More relief materials will also be sent, so that no family feels alone in this crisis.
