SAS Nagar, May 20- Surjan Hirde Pal Singh Memorial Private Charitable Trust has donated a funeral van worth around Rs 14 lakh to Mohali Municipal Corporation. This van has been specially designed to transport dead bodies from the narrow lanes, villages, and dense settlements of the city to the crematorium.

This van has been specially designed to transport dead bodies from the narrow lanes, villages, and dense settlements of the city to the crematorium.
Trustee of the Trust, Angrez Singh Dhillon handed over this van to the Municipal Corporation in memory of his father. It was formally handed over to the corporation in the presence of Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi. Dhillon said that this van has been designed keeping in mind the needs of the community, with the aim of serving areas where facilities are not available.
Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi described this initiative of the Dhillon family as an example of social service, which is beneficial for the residents and presents a living example of social responsibility. He also recalled the earlier services rendered by the trust while handing over the keys of the van to municipal officials SDO Dharminder Kumar and SDO Sandeep Saini. He informed that Dhillon family has arranged free accommodation by constructing rooms in Gurdwara Sahib near PGI.
Gurmeet Singh Sian, Gurdev Singh Chauhan, Advocate Tejveer Singh Sidhu, Harminder Deep Singh Dhillon, Davinder Kumar Vats, Prem Singh (Retd SP), TS Grewal, Amrik Singh, Mewa Singh, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
