SAS Nagar, May 20- Senior Punjab Congress leader and former Health Minister Balveer Singh Sidhu said that the Punjab government is playing with the interests of Punjab by appointing persons from Delhi on important public posts.
In a statement issued here, he said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has mortgaged Punjab to Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal to save his chair, who is doing whatever he wants in every small and big matter. He alleged that Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Satinder Jain, who are embroiled in scams worth crores and have been rejected by the people of Delhi, are now appointing their favourites in important departments of Punjab to establish direct control over every department.
He said that persons brought from Delhi have been appointed to the posts of Chairman of Punjab Pollution Control Board and Punjab Large Scale Industry Development Board, who neither understand Punjab nor have any attachment to Punjab. Their sole aim is to fill their own pockets and those of their political masters.
He said all these persons being brought from Delhi were those who were involved in some or the other scam in Delhi during the Aam Aadmi Party government and now these unemployed persons are being brought to Punjab so that their “experience” can be availed here as well.
He said the Punjab government has betrayed the interests of Punjab by appointing three Delhi lawyers namely Mohammad Irshad, Prashant Manchanda, and RV Sinha on all the three vacancies of Additional Advocate General in the office of Advocate General bypassing the lawyers of Punjab. He said the appointment of non-Punjabis on important posts like Additional Advocate General is a serious crime as non-Punjabi persons cannot be expected to fight for the interests of Punjab.
He appealed to the public welfare organizations, institutions and intellectuals of Punjab to raise their voice in every possible way against the tampering of the interests of the state by the Punjab government.
