
Jammu and Kashmir: Over 100 cattle killed due to lightning.
Rajouri/Jammu, May 27- Over 100 sheep and goats of nomadic families died due to lightning in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. The incident took place in the upper reaches of Budhal sub-division, when lightning struck a shepherd’s camp during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.

The nomadic families of Targain village in Budhal had gone to the upper reaches along with their cattle as part of seasonal migration in search of green pastures and had set up their camp near the road top as per their traditional practice.
A team of officials from the Budhal Sheep and Livestock Department visited the spot this morning and prepared a detailed report on the loss suffered by the affected families. Meanwhile, the nomadic families have appealed for compensation.
