
Civil Hospital Garhshankar launched an awareness campaign on the occasion of National Dengue Day
Garhshankar, Paigam-e-Jagat (Report by Baljinder Kitna)16 May 2025 – As per the directions of Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Pawan Kumar, a special awareness campaign was launched by Civil Hospital Garhshankar under the leadership of Senior Medical Officer Dr. Santokh Ram today to provide information to the people about prevention of dengue on the occasion of National Dengue Day. This campaign was launched in the slum areas of Garhshankar Urban area, Civil Hospital Garhshankar and schools in the area.

This campaign was launched in the slum areas of Garhshankar Urban area, Civil Hospital Garhshankar and schools in the area.
People were made aware about the early symptoms, treatment and prevention methods of dengue. Health workers went door to door in the slum areas to create awareness among the people.
With the help of Health Nodal Officers in schools, students were given special lectures and activities to make them aware that maintaining a clean environment and preventing stagnant water is very important to prevent the spread of dengue.
Dr. Santokh Ram, Senior Medical Officer In-charge, said, “Everyone’s participation is essential to prevent dengue. Simple measures like covering water containers, using larvicidal drugs and installing mosquito nets are very helpful in preventing dengue.”

On this occasion, Dr. Amit Kumar Nodal Officer, Dr. Amarjit Singh, Dr. Navjinder Singh, Nursing Sister Sukhwinder Kaur, MPH Rajesh Parthi, besides paramedical staff, nursing students and the general public were present.
