
Residents Troubled as Solar Lights in Phase 4 Remain On During Blackout
S.A.S. Nagar, May 9- During a blackout last night, the solar street lights installed in Phase 4 of the locality did not turn off, after which residents contacted the electricity department. However, the department stated that action would be taken the next day, prompting residents to contact former councilor Gurumukh Singh Sohal.

However, the department stated that action would be taken the next day, prompting residents to contact former councilor Gurumukh Singh Sohal.
S. Sohal stated that solar street lights are installed in Phase 4. He said that a blackout order has been in place for the past two days, but the solar lights have been continuously operational. The residents’ demand was that these lights should also be turned off to comply with the blackout orders.
He further informed that during the blackout last night, he contacted the Executive Engineer of the Municipal Corporation regarding this issue and requested that the lights be turned off as per the residents’ demand. The official responded that the lights would be permanently turned off in the morning.
He added that due to pressure from the residents, an electrician was called at night, and the lights were turned off to fully implement the blackout.
