Hoshiarpur- MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa visited the villages Bassi Jamal Khan and Bassi Ali Khan under Hoshiarpur assembly constituency and inspected the flood-affected areas. During this, he met the affected families and listened to their problems and assured them that the Punjab government is with them.

MLA Jimpa said that the priority of the government during natural disasters is to protect the people and provide them with necessary relief. He directed the officials of the concerned departments to immediately provide relief materials, food, medicines and clean drinking water to the flood-affected families.
He also asked the Revenue Department to assess the damage and prepare a report so that the process of providing compensation to the affected can start soon. He said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is accountable to the public and under no circumstances will the people be left helpless.
He assured the villagers that their problems would be resolved on priority. The villagers thanked MLA Jimpa and said that his visit had given them courage and they hoped that the government would provide the necessary help soon. MLA Jimpa said that the administration and people's representatives are working together to deal with disasters like floods.
He also appealed to the people to remain alert and immediately inform the local administration about any problem so that timely help could be provided. On this occasion, Bassi Ali Khan Sarpanch Resham Singh, Youth President Pritpal, Bassi Ali Khan Sarpanch Jatinder Pal and Karnail Chand were also present.
