Garhshankar, August 25- You can only imagine how the people of mud houses are in trouble during the rainy season if you have met such a family. Amarjit alias Rana, son of Surinder Kumar, a resident of Monowal village in Garhshankar, said that he works as a scrap dealer.
He has a defect in one of his legs and sometimes he also suffers from seizures. He does not do any kind of drugs, having no children, he has adopted a child. He had got four marlas of land under the colonies allotted to the homeless by the government at some point.
Amarjit, who lives in a thatched roof, somehow managed to find a room for a lantern, leaving space for a ladder to go to the roof, but due to lack of capacity, the water that comes down from the space left for the ladder also enters his pucca house during every rain.
Amarjit said that he has filled the form twice under which the government provides money to make the thatched houses permanent, but till date Amarjit has not received the due government assistance.
The people sitting in the government, understanding the pain of Amarjit Rana, should allocate the due assistance amount to him on priority basis so that the trouble that Amarjit is facing during the upcoming rains can end. When I spoke to the responsible persons of the village, they also raised slogans in favor of Amarjit.
