SAS Nagar, May 6- Baba Banda Singh Bahadur defeated Jabar Subedar Wajid Khan and conquered Sirhind in the month of May. In memory of that day, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee is celebrating Sirhind Fateh Diwas at Gurdwara Sahib Chappar Cheedi Kalan from May 10 to 12.
In this regard, a meeting of the office bearers of Mohali Gurudwara Coordination Committee was held under the chairmanship of President Joginder Singh Sondhi, in which the outline of this program was prepared. Shiromani Akali Dal Mohali constituency's chief sevadar Parwinder Singh Sohana and Charanjit Singh Kalewal, members of the Shiromani Managing Committee, were specially present in the meeting.
The spokesperson of the Gurudwara Coordination Committee said that in the programs to be held at Gurdwara Sahib Chappar Cheedi, high-class ragis, dhadhis and kavishri jathas will delight the Sangat with Gurbani. And on May 12, after the morning Paath Bhog, Nagar Kirtan will start and will culminate at Gurdwara Shri Fatehgarh Sahib.
Speaking on the occasion, Parwinder Singh Sohana said that Sirhind Fateh Diwas reminds us of the sacrifices of our martyrs and we can learn from our past and move towards a better future.
Among others, Gurdwara Coordination Committee leaders Karam Singh Babra, Manjit Singh Mann, Sarabjit Singh Bajwa, Harjit Singh, Jagjit Singh, Harpal Singh, Hardeep Singh, Inderjit Singh, Pritam Singh, Surjit Singh Matharu, Dayal Singh, Bhajan Singh, Jaspal Singh, Kulwinder Singh, Rajinder Singh Tohra (Manager, Gurdwara Amb Sahib), and Akali Dal's Ramandeep Singh Bawa and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
