
CPIM District Hoshiarpur General Body Meeting held
Garhshankar, May 3- The General Body meeting of CPI(M) Hoshiarpur was held at Dr. Bhag Singh Hall under the chairmanship of Comrade Achchar Singh, in which the party's State Secretary Comrade Sukhwinder Singh Sekhon also attended.

During the meeting, a reception committee was elected to make arrangements for the state conference of the Janavadi Istri Sabha to be held at Garhshankar on August 19-20, in which the responsibility was given to Chairman Subhash Mattu, President Neelam Badhovan, Secretary Surinder Kaur Chumbar, Treasurer Prem Lata and Balwinder. Apart from this, arrangements have been made to hold conferences of the branches of the All India Kisan Sabha, All India Khet Mazdoor Union, DYFI, SFI and up to the level up to which they are organized and it has also been decided to support the strike being called by the central trade unions on May 20. This information was given by the party's District Secretary Gurnek Singh Bhajjal.
Addressing the meeting, the party's State Secretary Sukhwinder Singh Sekhon said that these conferences are being held during a period when right-wing reactionary forces have strengthened at the global level and the emerging neo-fascism is rampant to intensify the looting of the people by imperialism and capitalists. He said that to intensify its looting, the alliance of imperialist countries, NATO, is throwing other countries into the furnace of war.
He said that the central government of the BJP-led NDA at the center is behaving like slaves. He said that through interference in BBMB, the Centre is pushing Punjab by breaking the agreement regarding the waters of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan and giving Punjab's share to Haryana and Rajasthan. He said that the all-party meeting called by the Punjab government has done the work of putting brakes on the conspiracy of the Centre, in which Punjab BJP leaders were also present, which is a positive aspect.
He said that these conferences are being held even when the 24th Congress of the party has been held in Madurai, in which it has been decided to strengthen the alliance of the left and secular parties to defeat the right-wing reactionary forces. He invited that local struggles play a big role in implementing the works taken out by the party. To run which it is also very important to have funds.
The meeting was also addressed by Darshan Singh Mattu, Mahendra Kumar Badhovan, Gurmesh Singh, Asha Nand, Harbans Singh Dhoot, Harbhajan Atwal, Manjit Kaur etc.
