Nawanshahr, April 26 - Asha workers will participate in the International Labor Day being celebrated by IFTU on May 1 at Vishwakarma Temple, Nawanshahr. This decision was taken in a meeting of Asha Workers and Facilitators Union, District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, held in Nawanshahr.
Addressing this meeting, the union's district president Shakuntala Saroy, district leaders Geeta Rajbinder Kaur Kat, Anita Thopiya and Harbans Kaur Hiala said that International Labor Day is a very important historical day for workers. In the year 1886, workers fought a bloody struggle in America for the demand of 8-hour working day and other demands.
Police opened fire and resorted to other violence on workers who were striking and demonstrating in the city of Chicago, America. The white flag was stained with the blood of the workers spilled on the roads. In the face of this struggle of the workers, the pro-capitalist government of America had to kneel down and accept the demands of the workers. After which the workers all over the world started celebrating May 1 as 'International Workers' Day'.
The leaders said that today there are big challenges before the working class at the national and international levels. The Modi government has repealed the first pro-labor labor law and brought four anti-labor and pro-capitalist labor codes, which is a big attack by the Modi government on the working class.
Insecurity in the workplaces in the country is taking the lives of workers every day. Instead of taking any action against the employers, the Modi government at the center and the state governments are patting the backs of the employers. The common people are groaning, suffering from inflation, unemployment and corruption. The ruling class parties' governments are trampling democratic and constitutional values ??under their own feet. They demanded regularization of all scheme workers, regularization of raw employees.
