Chandigarh, April 17: National Executive Member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and senior leader Harjit Singh Grewal, while reacting to a statement by Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Amarinder Singh Raja Waring, who advised "chitta" (synthetic heroin) addicts to switch to opium, said that there is no alternative to any drug.
Drugs are just drugs and it only ruins lives. Congress leaders do not have control over their tongue and such statements by these people push the society towards drug addiction. Grewal said that statements of such leaders, which can harm the society, should not be broadcast by the media. He said that psychologists or mental health experts should be consulted on the issue of drug addiction.
He appealed to the public not to get addicted to any new drug after hearing such statements. Do not trust the advice of such quack doctors who pose a threat to the people. He advised Raja Waring to speak thoughtfully and carefully.
