Ludhiana- On May 1st, on the occasion of International Labor Day, while remembering the labor martyrs of Chicago, resolutions will be taken to further the struggle of the working class to free itself from slavery at the hands of the capitalist class. The militant labor organizations Factory Labor Union and Textile-Hosiery Workers Union have also decided to hold a Labor Day conference in Ludhiana this time too like every year. The Naujawan Bharat Sabha will cooperate.
This decision was taken here today in a joint meeting of Factory Labor Union, Textile-Hosiery Workers Union and Naujawan Bharat Sabha at the Labor Library, EWS Colony. The meeting was attended by Factory Workers Union President Lakhwinder Singh, Textile-Hosiery Workers Union President Jagdish Singh and Naujawan Bharat Sabha leader Ravinder Kaur, as well as other leaders and activists of the organizations Diljot, Vishwanath, Hina, Tina, Mausam and Disha.
The conference will discuss the current situation of the country and the world, discuss the challenges and tasks facing the working class, and also present a cultural program of revolutionary-dramatic songs. To convey the revolutionary message of May Day and the call for the May Day conference to the workers, the organizations will launch a two-week intensive propaganda campaign. Thousands of pamphlets and posters will be printed. Meetings and street meetings will be held.
Issuing a press note, Factory Workers Union President Lakhwinder said that the lesson of International Workers' Day is that the liberation of the working class has to be achieved by the working class itself. The revolutionary legacy of May Day inspires the workers to reject the divisions of country, nation, caste, religion, race, etc. and unite as a class to intensify the struggle for the abolition of the current exploitative, anti-human capitalist-imperialist system. In the current world conditions, when capitalist-imperialist exploitation has become more acute than ever before, the importance of International Workers' Day increases greatly.
Therefore, opposing the conspiracies to limit the celebration of International Workers' Day to ceremonial and payment activities, there is a need to celebrate it with full revolutionary enthusiasm by making the workers aware of the great heritage and teachings of May Day. They have invited all the workers, workers, and justice-loving people to join the Workers' Day Conference.
