District Program Officer (ICDS) Narendra Kumar said that this year the Nutrition Fortnight will focus on four major topics including focus on the first 1000 days of life, beneficiaries of the Nutrition Tracker, promotion of citizen module, management of malnutrition through Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) and promotion of healthy lifestyle to deal with obesity in children. He said that the purpose of celebrating the Nutrition Fortnight is to make people aware about the importance of nutrition and healthy food habits.
Narendra Kumar further said that various community activities and programs will be organized during the Nutrition Fortnight, which will make people aware. These will focus on “Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi” (PBPB), better early childhood care and education (ECCE), tribal, traditional, regional and local food practices for nutrition awareness and methods related to the health of pregnant women and infant and young child feeding (IYCF). Apart from this, emphasis will also be laid on the promotion and popularization of Shri Ann/Millet for good nutritional health.
On this occasion, Child Development Project Officer Una Shiv Singh, District Coordinator Nutrition, all members of Mission Shakti, all supervisors of Project Una and all Anganwadi workers of Circle Una, Arniala and Rakkad participated.
