
Ban on public and social media display of weapons in the district.
Nawanshahr- District Magistrate Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Ankurjit Singh, exercising the powers conferred under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023, has imposed a complete ban on carrying and displaying weapons / arms in any type of marriage palace / resort, fair, religious place, procession, wedding party or other program / public function and educational institutions in the district.
Nawanshahr- District Magistrate Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Ankurjit Singh, exercising the powers conferred under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023, has imposed a complete ban on carrying and displaying weapons / arms in any type of marriage palace / resort, fair, religious place, procession, wedding party or other program / public function and educational institutions in the district.
Apart from this, the said ban will also remain applicable on public display of weapons, display on social media. According to the District Magistrate, songs glorifying weapons or violence are also included in the scope of this ban / prohibition. Apart from this, surprise inspection will be done in different areas by Senior Superintendent of Police Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar.
FIR will be registered against those who speak abusive language against any community and strict action will be taken. Similarly, in view of the incidents of robbery and looting in petrol pumps and banks, the District Magistrate has declared CCTV cameras mandatory at every bank and petrol pump in the district through a separate order. According to the District Magistrate, the recording capacity of these CCTV cameras should be at least 7 days.
The responsibility of implementing this order will be of Senior Superintendent of Police Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, District Food and Supply Controller Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and Lead Bank Manager District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. Both the above orders will remain in force till 31 May 2025.
