Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 27th March 2025: In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 6 (1) (e) of the Punjab Travel Professionals Regulation Act-2012, the Additional District Magistrate Geetika Singh has cancelled the license of the firm AS IELTS. Additional District Magistrate Geetika Singh informed that the owner of the firm A.S. IELTS Coaching Institute of IELTS, located at Main Market, Punjab and Sindh Bank, near Pooja Gas Agency, Chandigarh Road, Kurali, Tehsil Kharar, District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Amarjit Singh son of Harbhajan Singh, resident of village Kansal, Sub Tehsil-Majri, Tehsil, Kharar, District Mohali, was issued a license No. 355/IC, dated 06.11.2019 for the work of Coaching Institute of IELTS. The validity of this license has expired on 05-11-2024.
In the above regard, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said that as per the report of Tehsildar, Kharar, the office address of the firm was found closed and a photocopy of the summons was pasted in his office.
The licensee did not provide information about monthly reports, advertisements and seminars related to the firm and did not inform the office about the half-yearly report.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner said that based on the above situation regarding the firm, the licensee did not renew the license as per the Act/Rules and Advisory, did not send information regarding monthly reports and advertisements, office was closed, notice of residential address was received undelivered, did not reply/clarify the notice and did not comply with the clauses of the license, the company/firm and the licensee have committed a violation under the provisions of Section 6(1)(e) of the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act-2012.
Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under the provisions of Section 6(1) (e) of the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act-2012, the license No. 355/IC dated 06.11.2019 issued to the firm AS IELTS for the work of Coaching Institute of IELTS has been revoked/cancelled with immediate effect.
Further, as per the Act/Rules, if in future any complaint etc. is received against the said company/firm/partnership or its licensee/directors/partner of the firm, then the said company/director/partner/licensee shall be liable in all respects for the same and shall also be liable to compensate the same.
