Urmila Devi Ayurvedic College Hoshiarpur. On this occasion, an awareness rally was also taken out with the cooperation of the Principal of the college Mrs. Dr. Mridu Sharma and children.
DDHO Dr. Moninder Kaur informed that the theme of this year's World Oral Health Day "Happy Mouth, Happy Mind" aims to empower people with knowledge, tools and confidence, so that they can maintain good oral health. She said that dental health is as important as the rest of the body, because the words spoken with the teeth are pronounced correctly and the person also looks beautiful. Healthy teeth are very important for chewing and digesting food properly.
Similarly, it is important to keep the gums healthy and disease free so that the gums can hold the teeth well throughout life. He said that food stuck in the teeth causes inflammation in the teeth, due to which the gums start bleeding while brushing. He said that if the hard yellow plaque on the teeth is not cleaned, it becomes the main cause of teeth and gum disease.
Therefore, we need to pay special attention to the cleanliness of the teeth. Attention should be paid. On this occasion, a special exhibition on dental care was organized by Medical Officer (Dental) CHC Harta Badla Dr. Sandeep Damana. Through which children were made aware about dental care.
He said that it is very important to motivate children to brush regularly to avoid dental diseases and make teeth strong. Brushing should be done regularly before sleeping at night and after eating in the morning, which helps in preventing plaque from accumulating on the teeth. He told the children about the correct method of cleaning teeth with a brush, how to use the brush etc.
He said that for proper cleaning of teeth, it is necessary to change the brush every three months and get your teeth checked by a dentist every six months. If there is still any problem with the teeth, then get your teeth checked by a dentist only.
