
E-auction of 12 Retail Liquor Groups fetch Rs 792.20 Crore, says DC Komal Mittal
SAS Nagar, March 19: SAS Nagar District has fetched a revenue of Rs 792.20 Crore from the e-auction of 12 retail liquor groups for the allocation of retail liquor vends for the coming fiscal year 2025-26. The allotment of the left over single group would be done by e-tendering process, said the Deputy Commissioner Mrs Komal Mittal. The last date for bidding is March 20.

Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner said that the Technical & Financial Bids for these tenders were opened on March 17, 2025 at MIA (Mohali Industrial Association) Bhawan, Industrial area, Sector 78, SAS Nagar. Out of the total 13 groups, 12 were successfully allocated to the highest bidders (H-1). The total reserve price for these 12 groups was Rs 549.89 crore and they were allotted for a cumulative amount of Rs 792.20 crore, reflecting an increase of Rs 242.20 crore (+44.06%) over the reserve price.
Adding the details, Assistant Commissioner (Excise), Ashok Chalhotra said that the excise revenue of SAS Nagar (Mohali) district has historically seen significant increase during last couple of years. The revenue of Mohali district has seen rise from Rs. 235 Crores during the year 2021-22 to Rs 528 Crores during current year (2024-25) witnessing an increase of over 124% in last 03 years. This unprecedented growth in Excise revenue speaks volumes about the success of the Excise Policies of the State for the year 2022-23 to 2024-25.
It also demonstrates the commitment of the Excise Department towards enhancing revenue generation of the State through high degree of operational efficiency under the able leadership of Excise Commissioner, Punjab Sh. Varun Roojam IAS. The Excise department has consistently worked to uphold transparency and inspire confidence of Public in implementation of various provisions of excise policy.
He further said that the tender for one group of Mohali district, namely New Chandigarh, was cancelled due to the rejection of the technical bid by the Technical Evaluation Committee (TEC). A fresh tender for this group has also been issued, with the bidding deadline set for 20.03.2025 at 12:05 PM. The reserve price for this group is Rs 45.11 crore.
