
Punjab Government Extends Deadline for Media Accreditation Applications
The Punjab Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) has announced an extension for media personnel to apply for accreditation cards and vehicle passes. As per the latest directive, journalists can now submit their applications until April 1, 2025, at the District Public Relations Office in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Mohali. This decision follows guidelines issued on March 12, 2025, and subsequent updates on March 18, 2025.

As per the latest directive, journalists can now submit their applications until April 1, 2025, at the District Public Relations Office in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Mohali. Key details regarding the accreditation process include:
Eligibility: Only journalists stationed at district headquarters, tehsils, blocks, or sub-tehsils are eligible to apply. Applicants must provide clear documentation of their posting location.
Accreditation Requirements: Applicants must belong to recognized media organizations such as newspapers listed under DAVP (CBC), websites or web channels empaneled with the Punjab Public Relations Department, or satellite channels approved by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Submission Guidelines: Applications must be submitted in person along with required documents during office hours. Online submissions or email applications will not be considered.
Additional Conditions: Accreditation cards will only be issued once a year. Political affiliations or activities may disqualify applicants. Police verification is mandatory for new applications.
For renewal of accreditation cards, journalists are required to apply through the Punjab Government’s online portal by March 20, 2025. The portal allows applicants to track their application status and address objections online.
