Local Government Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh visits new location of fire station

While visiting the new location of the fire brigade station near Bhangi Chow along with Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain and other officials and taking information about the construction of the station, Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh said that the necessary process should be implemented soon so that the fire brigade station can be shifted to the new location. He said that the Punjab government has released Rs 2.50 crore to the Municipal Corporation for the construction of the fire brigade station at the new location.
The Local Government Minister, while looking at the proposed plan of the new fire brigade station, said that along with the construction as per the demands of the modern times, necessary arrangements should be made at the station in every respect. 
He said that in view of the difficulty faced in removing vehicles from the old station located in the market inside the city during emergencies, the Punjab government has approved the construction of the fire station at the new location and has released the necessary funds. 
The officials informed the Cabinet Minister that the tender process for construction at the new location is underway and it will be completed in the next few days and the construction work will be started. Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain said that the fire brigade station to be built on a land of more than 2 kanals will have adequate arrangements of vehicles etc. to control the situation during emergencies.
On this occasion, Mayor Surinder Kumar, Chairman of Nagar Sudhar Trust Gurvinder Singh Pabla, Vice Chairman of Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation Harminder Singh Bakshi, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Amandeep Kaur etc. were also present.
