Gurvinder Singh Pabla takes over as Chairman of Municipal Improvement Trust

Hoshiarpur- Gurvinder Singh Pabla, Chairman of the Local Municipal Improvement Trust appointed by the Punjab Government, took over today in the presence of Local Bodies Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh and said that the functioning of the Trust will be further improved.

Speaking after taking over in the presence of Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh, MLA Brahmshankar Jimpa, MLA Jasvir Singh Raja Gill, MLA Karamveer Singh Ghumman and other dignitaries, Chairman Gurvinder Singh Pabla said that the works of the people will be done smoothly and in a timely manner as per the objectives of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and the Punjab Government. He said that the maintenance and other processes of the areas related to the Municipal Improvement Trust will be implemented smoothly with the cooperation of the people and necessary facilities will be provided to the residents from time to time.
Local Bodies Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh while congratulating Chairman Gurwinder Singh Pabla on assuming charge said that Punjab Government has been making continuous efforts for the last three years to ensure all-round development in every area of ??the state and as a result of these efforts, unprecedented development works have been done. He said that the department has further streamlined the sewerage and water supply system and increased the existing 2142 MLD. The total capacity has been increased by 492.15 MLD to 2634.15.
He said that 730 machines are being purchased for sewerage cleaning at a cost of Rs 39.55 crore. Dr. Ravjot Singh said that 52 sewerage treatment plants with a capacity of 607 MLD are under construction in the state at a cost of about Rs 1.5 crore. This project to be built at a cost of Rs 650 crore will be completed in the next one and a half years.
Regarding Swachh Bharat Mission in the state, Dr. Ravjot Singh informed that an amount of Rs. 413.66 crore has been released to the urban local bodies for machines and other processing facilities for solid waste management in urban areas. He informed that the department is soon finalizing the process of shifting the fire brigade station of Hoshiarpur to an open space outside the city. He informed that new projects are also being brought soon for Hoshiarpur Municipal Corporation so that more facilities can be provided to the city residents.
On this occasion, Backfinco Chairman Sandeep Saini, District Planning Committee Chairperson Karamjit Kaur, Vice Chairman Harminder Singh Bakshi, Gau Seva Commission member Jaspal Singh Chechi, besides celebrities from various fields were present.
