Hoshiarpur- On the instructions of the Election Commission of India and the instructions of District Election Officer Ashika Jain, a meeting was held today by the officials of the District Election Office with recognized political parties regarding voter list, appointment of booth level agents, grievance redressal and bringing more transparency in the election process.
During the meeting at the local district administrative complex, Election Tehsildar Sarabjit Singh appealed that political parties will authorize any party member through their president or secretary to appoint booth level agent at the district representative or assembly constituency level, in such a situation signature and seal on the form will be mandatory. He said that the authorized representative will appoint booth level agents for each polling station.
While giving information to the representatives of political parties regarding registering new votes in the voter list, correcting details and deleting votes by the Election Commission, the Election Tehsildar said that the Commission has provided the facility of applying online on https://voterportal.eci.gov.in/(Beta), Voter Helpline App and National Voter Service Portal.
He informed that any kind of complaint/suggestion related to voter list and election can be registered online on https://ngsp.eci.gov.in/ portal and information related to election and voter list can be obtained on toll free number 1950.
He informed that information related to voter list and election rules and notifications can be obtained on www.eci.gov.in/. The Election Tehsildar told the representatives of political parties that after thoroughly examining the voter lists, if there is any suggestion, it can be given to the District Election Office. Representatives of various political parties were present on this occasion.
